As I noted in a previous post, I’ve joined the board of the National Capital Area Skeptics (NCAS). The COVID pandemic was tough on many small non-profit organizations, but NCAS has resumed in-person events, and a lot of fun and educational events are in the works!

In particular, on November 15, 2025, NCAS will host Mesmerized at 8 p.m. at the Capital Hilton in Washington D.C. You can (and should) purchase tickets from Eventbrite. Mesmerized is a one-night-only 90-minute show featuring cognitive scientist Anthony Barnhart and mentalist Joe Diamond. The performance reveals how easily we can be deceived and how science and skepticism are our best defense. Mesmerized will not be posted to the NCAS YouTube page, so this is your only opportunity to see the show!
